What is the Social Development Plan?
The Social Development Plan (SDP) was established in 2012 as a response to the emerging revitalization efforts in Lawrence Heights. Through extensive consultations and engagement with local stakeholders, the plan was carefully crafted over a span of three years to capture the distinctive characteristics that define the community. Emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration, the SDP identified Six Action Priorities derived directly from the community members' input, reflecting their strengths and aspirations for the neighborhood's future.
As a foundational document, the Social Development Plan serves as a guide throughout all stages of the revitalization process. It envisions a cooperative, cooperative, and inclusive community, paving the way for Lawrence Heights' transformed landscape. The plan signifies a shift from solely being a social housing neighborhood to a vibrant mixed-income, mixed-use community. Importantly, it remains a living document that evolves to meet the evolving needs of Lawrence Heights and its current and future residents.
By providing a roadmap for the neighborhood's revitalized future, the Social Development Plan plays a crucial role in shaping a stronger community. It aligns with the changing dynamics and aspirations of Lawrence Heights, fostering a shared vision and supporting the collective efforts towards a thriving, sustainable, and resilient neighborhood.
